This graphic was an exercise in coloring characters in a cartoony style. Based on the characters from the Lego movie, I colored with light. Coloring with light follows the same stream of thought as painting or drawing with the five-value systems. The five-value system delineates the application of tones spanning from highlights to the darkest, dark core shadows. For comic coloring, however, a flat tone sets the base of the illustration.
